The 2020 Nissan Altima Does Not Rest on Its Laurels

With its redesign for the 2019 model year, the Nissan Altima made history as being the only entry in the midsize sedan segment to offer optional all-wheel drive. That’s in addition to sports styling, the world’s first mass-produced variable-compression engine with the highly potent VC-Turbo, and high-level safety technologies that are made standard across all available trims. Despite these improvements over the previous five generations of production, Nissan is not done yet. The 2020 model year welcomes major changes to make the Altima the ultimate choice in a highly competitive field

Safety Comes Standard

The primary enhancement concerns the safety features of the Nissan Altima. The Safety Shield 360 suite of technologies is now standard on the SR, which is a level up from the base-level S. With driver-assistance tech features such as pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, a radar-based blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, and high beam assist, your ability to monitor your front, side, and rear will be maximized. Even the S trim has the addition of a driver-assist package that includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and driver alertness as the Altima baseline.

If you go with the top-level Platinum trim, you now have the choice of adding a memory function for the side mirror on the driver side. That way, you can adjust it to get the best viewing perspective possible. And you will greatly appreciate the added ability to go with a piano-black trim for the interior if you go with the SV, SL, or Platinum model.
